Two arrested from Punjab over firing incident outside Salman Khan’s Bandra home
The two accused Anuj Thapan (32) and Sonu Subhash Chander (37) were being brought to the city on Thursday evening, and will be produced before the court on Friday. With this, the number of arrests in the case now amounts to four.

THE MUMBAI police crime branch on Thursday arrested two persons from Punjab in connection with the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra home. Police said the duo, one of whom is linked to Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had allegedly come to Panvel on March 15 and provided firearms to the two other accused who allegedly fired outside the actor’s home on April 14.
The two accused Anuj Thapan (32) and Sonu Subhash Chander (37) were being brought to the city on Thursday evening, and will be produced before the court on Friday. With this, the number of arrests in the case now amounts to four.
An officer said that Thapan and Chander were arrested from Punjab by the crime branch on Thursday. “They had come to Panvel on March 15 to provide two country pistols and 38 rounds to Suraj Pal and Vicky Gupta who eventually carried out the firing,” the officer said. Thapan and Chander were at their residence for nearly three hours before they left again for Punjab.
An officer said Thapan is a member of the Bishnoi gang and has three FIRs registered against him in the past. “Once we question the two, we will find out if others were involved,” an officer said. So far, the police have named Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in Sabarmati prison and his brother Anmol, suspected to be holed up in Canada, as wanted accused in the case.
Meanwhile, the crime branch on Thursday produced Pal and Gupta who were arrested on April 16 before the court, which extended their police custody till April 29.
