Hindustan Petroleum’s new addition Senhora D’Souza and Bharat Petroleum’s India No 3 Sanil Shetty were the cynosure of all eyes as the former ended with a triple crown, winning the women’s,youth girls and the juniors singles titles, while Sanil, dazzled on his way to beating second seeded Noel Pinto to run away with the men’s singles title in the PRO-TT Academy- All Mumbai ranking tale tennis tournament,at the University Stadium, here late on Sunday night.

Sanil was at his aggressive best and at no stage gave Noel an earthily chance to make a match of it before winning the tie 11-5,11-7,11-8,11-9. One particular stage in the fourth game tells the whole story.

Noel serving at 7-9,hit a forehand smash with full force to Sanil’s backhand, yet Sanil turned around and hit back with such a speed and power that had Noel standing in awe to see the ball passing him without him being in a position to react. No wonder that particular point brought a wry smile on Noel’s face, acknowleding Sanil’s class.

Senhora was just unstoppable in all the three finals. She was full of fire as she attacked relentlessly to down Charvi Kawle 11-6,8-11,11-8,13-15,11-8 12-10 in the women’s singles final. While she proved too good for promising junior Akshi Sancheti,a relatively newcomer in the local table tennis scene. However,it was very creditable on Akshi’s part after upsetting second seeded Charvi Kawle on way to the final.

And in the junior girls final,Senhora outplayed bespectacled Dyuti Patki 4-0.
