Three youths arrested with fake currency notes

The RCF police on Saturday nabbed three youths,Mohammed Rafiq Sheikh,Mohammed Hasan Abdul Gafur Sheikh and Anil Ankush Chauhan,allegedly for possessing fake currency notes worth Rs 2.94 lakh. Preliminery investigations have indicated that the trio would print the notes using a scanner and a colour printer.

“We had received a tipoff that fake currency was going to exchange hands at the Gurudev Hotel in Chembur today and we laid a trap there at around 2 pm. We saw three youths come in with a bag and wait for someone. We closed in on them and a body search yielded wads of fake notes of Rs 1000,500,100 and 50 denominations. While their interrogation is still in progress,at present we know that the accused had come to deliver the notes to somebody,” said police inspector (Crime),Shailesh Pasalwar.
