Three held for faking robbery

The Mumbai Police have arrested three youths for fabricating a theft story.

The Mumbai Police have arrested three youths for fabricating a theft story. The three were arrested after probe into a robbery complaint made by one Samir Sayyed,an employee of a cement company,revealed that the robbery was carried out by the complainant and his friends.

According to the police,Sayyed was assigned the job of collecting pending credit from construction sites in Navi Mumbai.

On July 21,he collected around Rs 9,70,000 and then contacted his friends Mateen Munsheed (19) and Shafeeq Navaab Khan (21) to plan the robbery. As per plan,Mateen and Shafeeq slashed Sayyed’s back and left with the money. A bleeding Sayyed approached the police station. The sequence of events narrated by Sayyed to his employer and the police were different. “It was the greed for easy money,” DCP S Shintre said. The police have recovered around Rs 7 lakh from Sayyed.ens
