Three cheers until dawn

Leading the blitzkrieg of revelers was Kareena Kapoor. After collecting her trophy for the Best Actor (Female) in Popular Category award,the oh-so-beautiful leading lady and onstage performer had changed into an elegant diaphanous sari and walked in along with a rugged Jaaved Jaffri.

The loudest hurrahs belonged to the 3 Idiots team of course. After sweeping the awards with 10 trophies,that’s the kind of party etiquette everybody expected and loved. When the newest Bollywood anthem All is well filled the party venue,the dance floor was invaded by its super-thrilled producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra with his wife Anupama,director Rajkumar Hirani,actor Boman Irani,music director Shantanu Moitra and the delightful new find Omi Vaidya. Before the awards ceremony,we had reminded Vidhu and gang to join us at the party. He joked: “I will if I hopefully win an award.” And if you win many awards,we asked of his blockbuster film. “Then I’ll write you a cheque and host the party,” he laughed.

Vaidya—the winner of twin trophies for the Most Promising Newcomer and Best Actor in a Comic Role-brought in his birthday at the party and showed off some mean moves on the dance floor.

The evening’s other prominent group of glitterati belonged to Paa,though their style of partying was rather muted compared to 3 Idiots. The entire Bachchan clan joined the bash. The happy smile never left director R Balki’s face while a pleased-as-punch Amitabh Bachchan posed with wife Jaya. But it’s their son

Abhishek with wife jaw-droppingly beautiful Aishwarya in his arms who made the shutterbugs wait worth it. And it was time for Vidya Balan to show what a stunning fashionista she can be-Medusa hair,gold chandelier and a Kanjeevaram silk showed off the Indian aesthetic.

Imtiaz Ali made his lady fans happy by dancing with them,Prateik Babbar never left the floor either,Chandan Roy Sanyal taught us to dance the Dhan Ta Nan and Shibani Kashyap grooved when her song Zinda played. Along with choreographer Bosco,Imtiaz demonstrated fellow-revellers popular steps from Love Aaj Kal too.
