The way to go global is by telling local stories: Allu Arjun

ACTOR Allu Arjun on Wednesday said that the only way for Indian films to go global is by telling local stories.
Speaking on the opening day of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, Arjun said though more people across India know him now because of the success of his last theatrical outing, “Pushpa 2: The Rule”, he was still processing it.
“This is a long journey and I’m happy to have started on this journey,” he said.
The actor, after the stupendous success of “Pushpa 2” which earned over Rs 1,700 crore worldwide, is teaming up with the “Jawan” director, Atlee Kumar, for his next.
Sharing details of the movie, Arjun said he liked the idea Atlee has. “It will be my 22nd movie. We hope to create a unique visual spectacle on screen. It will be an international movie with Indian sensibilities. The only way to go global is by telling local stories, the actor said, while speaking during special conversation titled “Talent beyond Borders”.
Known for his excellent dancing skills and fitness, Arjun says: “Fitness is crucial for every actor. Though it is extremely tough to achieve it, all the efforts are worth It when you get appreciated for your on-screen appearance.”
He, however, said that dancing comes naturally to him because of his training in gymnastics and acrobatics.
Arjun, who was awarded National Film Awards for Best Actor for his role in Pushpa: The Rise (2023), revealed during the conversation that he follows his instinct when it comes to choosing a script. “Everyone is as big as their dreams and their effort to chase it,” he said on the subject of going after what one wants and added that “I try to give my best to the audience.”
Talking about how he believes in giving his all to a movie he does, Arjun said, “I never had a Plan B. I would rather sit at home and relax. It is about how good you are at what you do and giving attention to the details.”
