Thane: Man shot dead in Ulhasnagar

A 22-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by four men on Monday night over an old rivalry at a desolate place near a school in Kurla camp in Ulhasnagar, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Bharat Lashkar (22). “Lashkar, a resident of camp number four, was returning home with his friend when four men approached him,” a senior officer said.

“One of them had a firearm, with which he shot at Lashkar from a close range.” Lashkar was rushed to a hospital but was declared brought dead, the officer added.

The accused have been identified as Abhijeet Bodake, Salim Khan, Krishna Kumbhar and Uday Bhatkar, police said.

“Lashkar’s friend, who was with him at the time of the incident, identified the accused,” the officer said. “They are on the run, but we are tracing them.”
