TAIT: Flexible schedule for aspirants facing clashing exam dates
TAIT is crucial in the teacher recruitment process in Maharashtra for government and aided schools through the Pavitra System. The first TAIT was held in 2017 and then in 2022

The Maharashtra State Examination Council (MSEC) has decided to offer a flexible schedule for the upcoming Teachers Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) so that exam dates do not clash.
This comes as a major relief given that TAIT is being held after three years and more than two lakh candidates have registered for it.
Candidates who have other exams between May 25 and June 5 – the days on which TAIT is scheduled to be held — can upload their hall-tickets as proof on the MSEC portal by May 21 so that their TAIT exam can be scheduled accordingly.
TAIT is crucial in the teacher recruitment process in Maharashtra for government and aided schools through the Pavitra System. The first TAIT was held in 2017 and then in 2022. TAIT 2025 is being held after a considerable gap. Many candidates had raised concerns about being forced to choose between overlapping exams on the same dates.
This year, for the first time, final year students of B Ed, D Ed, and M Ed courses are declared eligible for the TAIT exam. This comes as a relief for aspiring teachers because given the gap between two TAIT exams, aspirants were staring at uncertainty over when the next TAIT will be held after completing their teacher education course.
But as the TAIT schedule had already been declared, many of them raised concerns that it was likely to clash with their university exams. Additionally, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission’s (MPSC) Group C exam is scheduled to be held on June 1 and some candidates are expected to appear for both exams.
Responding to various appeals by candidates, MSEC has decided to give aspirants relief. TAIT candidates facing exam conflicts can now upload hall tickets of their other exams as proof on the council’s official website by May 21.
MSEC Commissioner Anuradha Oak said, “We have decided to take a compassionate view in such situations so that no aspirant misses his/her chance to appear for TAIT. Their TAIT will be scheduled on a day when the candidate does not have any other exam.”
As MSEC closed registrations for TAIT on May 14, a total of 2,36,591 candidates from across Maharashtra have registered for this test, indicating strong interest given the limited frequency of the exam.
