In Kolkata,a visit to Flurys is often imbued with nostalgia. The 86-year-old bakery and tearoom, located in Park Street,is coming to the city well in time for the Christmas revelry. It is planning to open two outlets in Navi Mumbai Inorbit Mall in Vashi and Seawoods early next month.
The idea is to retain Flurys original flavour and the look of the bakery and take it to the people of Mumbai, says executive chef Vikas Kumar. Known for its relaxed European air and quaint interiors,Flurys is famous for its fresh cakes, rum balls, meringues with cream and Swiss pudding. Apart from these delicacies, the bakery also serves good old European classics, such as apple strudel, linzer and sacher tortes among others. While the pricing of the pre-packaged products will remain the same as in Kolkata, the freshly baked items will cost slightly more. We wish to have our presence in every city that has The Park hotels, adds Kumar. mumbai.newsline@expressindia.com
