A magistrate court issued a notice to actor Rhea Chakraborty, seeking a response on the closure report filed by the CBI, into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
In March, the central agency had filed a closure report into the death, concluding that it is a simple case of suicide.
The report filed before the magistrate court in Mumbai relates to the case filed by Chakraborty against Rajput’s sisters, Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh and a doctor for alleged abetment of suicide.
The CBI has also filed a closure report before another court in Patna where an FIR was filed against Chakraborty and her family members.
The CBI has said that there was no involvement of either of these persons and has recommended that the case be closed.
Rajput was found hanging by his staff at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020.
On June 21, the magistrate court issued the notice to Chakraborty for her response to the closure report.
The court will hear the case next on August 12.
