Son of slain builder claims police, neta shielding killers

Sunil Kumar Lohariya was killed on Feb 16 by 2 men allegedly hired by suresh Bijlani & another navi mumbai developer

Sandip, son of murdered Navi Mumbai builder Sunil Kumar Lohariya, alleged Tuesday a politician and four IPS officers were sheilding the killers of his father.

He said it was “impossible that (accused builder) Suresh Bijlani would be arrested” as he enjoyed the support of police officers and politicians in Navi Mumbai.

He also said it was hard to believe Bijlani was granted transit bail by the Indore bench of Allahabad High Court on May 17 to attend to his cancer-patient father.

“He (Bijlani) told the court he was an Indore resident and got bail. I do not understand how that is possible after Supreme Court (SC) twice rejected his anticipatory bail application,” Sandip said.

Sunil Kumar Lohariya was killed on February 16 by two men allegedly hired by Bijlani and another Navi Mumbai developer Anurag Garg.

Mumbai Crime Branch filed a special leave petition (SLP) in SC on May 29 and obtained a stay on the Indore court order. Police will now file a second SLP.

“We will seek to quash the Indore court decision to arrest Bijlani,” said a senior crime branch officer.

Sandip also produced statements of Navi Mumbai residents Gerald and Jackson (37) Bowen recorded by the crime branch.

The father-son,who were known to ex-cop and accused Emmanuel Amolik, allegedly told the crime branch they had started a garage in the office complex of Bijlani in Vashi.

Amolik, who was arrested on February 17,engaged Jackson to deliver money Bijlani was paying him to murder Lohariya, police said. After the murder,Amolik allegedly told Jackson to tell Bijlani the job had been done.

“When Jackson asked about the job,Amolik told him to mind his business. Amolik also told Jackson to collect a packet containing Rs 10 lakh that Bijlani paid him for killing Lohariya,” police said.
