The directives are to be followed by developers and Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) in redevelopment projects with regard to senior citizens based on the high court directives.
The directives require formation of a project implementation and control committee comprising of deputy engineer, executive engineer, developer of a project and two representatives of senior citizens from the project, which will have a monthly meeting.
The directives mention that MHADA will issue show-cause notice each month for three months to the developer if found violating norms in the implementation and quality of the project and in case of developer not rectifying the functioning, the committee or majority of senior citizens can submit a written complaint resulting in cancelling the appointment of the developer.
A special officer to the rank of executive engineer will be appointed to sort the complaints of senior citizens and a grievances redressal and monitoring system will be set up for the same.
