Sena UBT polling agent found dead on booth premises

The police said he had complained of uneasiness and discomfort before going to washroom.

A 62-year-old Shiv Sena (UBT) polling agent was found dead on the premises of a polling booth in Worli area of South Mumbai on Monday during the fifth and last phase of Lok Sabha polls, the police said.

The deceased has been identified as Manohar Nalge, 62, a resident of BDD chawl in Worli area.

According to the police, the incident took place on Monday afternoon when he was found in an unconscious condition in the toilet of the polling booth in Worli. He was immediately rushed to KEM hospital, where he was declared dead around 5.45 pm.

The police said he had complained of uneasiness and discomfort before going to washroom.

“His post-mortem is being conducted to ascertain the exact cause of the death,” a police officer said.

The Sena (UBT) workers accused the EC of not providing proper facilities at the polling centres across the city.
