Annual Day of Sri Ma Group of Institutions
The annual Day of Sri Ma Group of Institutions was held on the 10th,11th & 12th of February 2013 at Sri Ma Stadium,Patlipada,Ghodbunder Road,Thane (W). The programme began with an invocation and a welcome song. The programme was graced by the presence of Sri Tara Ma,the founder of the institute.
The programme was also attended by Sri Balgopal,the chairman of Sri Ma Trust & director,Sri Ma Group of Institutions & Dilip Deherkar,managing trustee of Sri Ma Trust. The theme on 10th Feb was Vision for India. On 11th Feb,the theme was Tal Se Tal Milao and on 12th Feb,the theme was Nature Around Us.
MD of Ryan Group gets Doordarshan award
Sahyadri Hirkani of Doordarshan Kendra organisaed 9th Award Ceremony at Ravindra Natya Mandir,Prabhadevi,Dadar (West) on March 5 evening. Nine distinguished women from across Maharastra were conferred the 9th Sahyadri Hirkani Award,sponsored by Sunsilk,to mark International Womens Day.
Doordarshan-Sahyadri Vahini western division convener Mukhesh Sharma presided over the programme. Mumbai University vice-chancellor Dr Rajan Velukar and film director Govind Nihalani were the chief guests. Mukhesh Sharma,Dr Welukar and Nihalani presented the award to Grace Pinto,managing director of Ryan Group.
Comedian Johny Lever,actor Amol Palekar,Mumbai University former vice-chancellor Dr Snehalata Deshpande,lawyer Ujjwal Nikam,actor Rohini Hattangady,veteran cricketer Ajit Wadekar,Amin Sheval,former corporator Kiran Shantaram,senior journalist Kumar Ketkar,Suchitra Sadanand Shetty,Padmabhushan Deshpande,Pramod Nalavadekar,Laxmikant Deshpande and others were guests of honour.
The other awardees were Neela Satyanarayan (Maharashtra’s first woman Election Commissioner),Sharada Sathe (First woman commission – Mahila Aayog,Maharastra),Neelima Mishra (rural micro credit in Maharastra),Dr Jamuna Pai (hair and skin specialist),Priti Patkar (founder member of Prerna),Indira Jaising (lZFirst Additional Solicitor General),Dr Devayani Borole (senior polar scientist) and Prema Jayakumar (All-India CA Exam Topper).As part of the cultural programme,Ryan students presented a percussion piece,Dilshad Group staged Sarangi dance and Siddesh Dalvi staged group dance.
Farewell for outgoing batch at DAV,Thane
The days spent in a school are the most memorable in an individual’s life. However,the thought of leaving this second home brings a heaviness in a childs heart.
Authorities of DAV Public School,Thane,organised an unforgettable farewell on 16th Feb,2013 for the outgoing 10th graders,on its school premises.
The school wore a festive look as uniforms made way for suits and saris.
The programme was ushered in by a prayer and lighting of the lamp. The atmosphere was lightened through a series of interactive activities,games and cultural performances.
Speaking on the occasion,Principal Simmi Juneja motivated students to work hard and advised them not only to take care of themselves but also their parents and grandparents.
A lucky draw was conducted to select the Fortunate Boy and Girl from each section and the fortunate ones were given prizes. The most exciting event of the day was the selection of Master and Miss DAV. After a series of rounds ,Sanjeev Nair was adjudged as Master DAV and Shraddha Wani was Miss DAV.
The teachers gave students their good wishes for their future endeavours.
It was a moment of varied emotions,joy,excitement,laughter and sorrow.
Seminars for students of KBP College,Thane
On 1st March,students of first & second year BCom & BA from Adarsh Vikas Mandals Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Degree College,Wagle Estate,Thane,attended a seminars organised by The Indian Express under the programme Quest.
The seminars were conducted by eminent speaker Pratima Gupte from Pinnacle Educomp. Students were given guidance on communication skills in the 1st session,in which the speaker tought different ways of communication & how important it is in different aspects of life. She also guided students on how to improves skills.
In the 2nd session,students were guided on time management,which is the most important topic in todays competitive & fast track world. The speaker explained it as the act or process of planning and exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific activities,especially to increase effectiveness,efficiency or productivity.
The seminars conducted by The Indian Express were appreciated by chairman Sachin More & principal Santosh Gawde.
DAV Public School,Thane,organises Good Luck Day
DAV Public School,Thane,organised a Good Luck Day on 22nd Feb 2013 on its school premises. The objective of the day was to seek blessings for students of Std. X who are appearing for board exams.
Rajeev Gupta,principal,DAV Airoli and Manager,DAV Thane,graced the occasion. The day started with the lighting of the lamp followed by Gayatri Mantra. The chief guest was welcomed with fragrant flowers. A havan was performed by school authorities,teachers and students. After the havan,the chief guest encouraged students and stressed the importance of hard work. He shared special meditation techniques with students to relieve anxiety,tension and stress before and during the examination. The chief guest,principal and teachers blessed students and gave good wishes for their board examination and for their future endeavours.
After distribution of prasad,students were given hall tickets.
It was another memorable day,as the students stepped out the school with hope,confidence and determination.
Photo exhibition at Dnyanasadhana College
For the first time,a photo exhibition was conducted in Dnyanasadhana College on 2nd march on its premises.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the principal Neeta Sane. The event was a collective initiative of the Bachelors of Mass media and Communication students. This exhibition showcased around 127 photographs clicked by mass media students during their industrial trip to Hyderabad.
Around 500 people attended the event. The students succeeded giving visitors the feeling that they were on a small trip to Hyderabad. The response to the event is overwhelming,we will try and come up with more such events where we can show case our practical skill, said Jeetendra Haldankar (HOD of BMM faculty).
