Rovin qualifies for knock out

D’Souza led the favourites into the last 16 where he was joined by Khar Gymkhana trio Laxman Rawat,Ishpreet Singh Chadha and Pawan Kohli,Jaiveer Dhingra of P.J. Hindu Gymkhana,Kabil Badami of Bombay Gymkhana,Zubin Leninwala of Indian Snooker Academy (ISA) and Mandeshpar Civic Federation duo Avenish Shah and Rohan Jambusaria.

Kishor Maguluri of Hyderabad went down 1-3 to Chadha in Group C for his first loss in two matches and the Banjara Hills cueist will be up against Dhariya Bhandari of ISA in their concluding round robin tie where the winner will snatch the second spot to qualify for the knock out.

Meanwhile,Pranit Ramchandani of Chennai kicked off his campaign in the competition with a 3-0 win over Vishesh Sahgal of NSCI in Group H. Pune lads Rajwardhan Joshi and Nimish Kulkarni of PYC Hindu Gymkhana lost their second group ties and their progress rests on the concluding ties on the morrow.
