When Scribe took the stage at Counter Culture in Bangalore earlier this month, the track they opened with surprised everyone. The band had not performed it before, and it isnt part of their forthcoming album,Hail Mogambo either. The track,Meri meshuggah, was composed specially for the Not So Sweet Nights gig, which was a collaboration between the hardcore band and All India Bakchod (AIB),one of the leading comedy collectives in Mumbai. We injected a bit of adrenaline into Meri mehbooba from Pardes which became Meri meshuggah, says Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy, vocalist of Scribe. During the song,AIB comedians ran around the stage holding placards with random text.
Many more crazy and hopefully funny antics are expected at the Mumbai leg of Not So Sweet Nights,an experimental night that looks to get the best of comedy and indie music to collaborate on stage. Tonight at Blue Frog, there will be a confluence of the two worlds with AIB,comprising Tanmay Bhat,Gursimran Khamba,Rohan Joshi and Ashish Shakya, and indie scenes folk darling,Raghu Dixit Project.
