Revamp of WR platforms

The Western Railway has started the work of raising the platforms on its suburban stations.

* The Western Railway (WR) has started the work of raising the platforms on its suburban stations.

* Rs 8.5 cr has been sanctioned to raise 40 platforms at 19 stations.

* Work on six platforms has been completed where as work on 13 platforms is in progress,said Shyam Sunder Gupta,Chief Public Relations Officer,WR.

* Work on platform nos. 2 and 3 at Mahim station,platform no. 4 and 5 at Borivali station,platform no.1 at Nallasopara station and platform no.4 at Charni Road station has already been completed.

* Work on remaining platforms will be completed by March,2011,said Gupta.

* Work is in progress at Goregaon,Malad,Bhayander,Naigaon,Andheri,Vile Parle,Santacruz and Bandra railway stations.
