A day after MNS president Raj Thackeray kicked off the party’s assembly poll campaign in Worli — constituency won by Aaditya Thackeray in 2019 —Shrikant Shinde, Shiv Sena Lok Sabha MP and son of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Sunday visited the area to review the poll preparations of his party.

“People of Mumbai are aware of the work undertaken by the state government and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Everyone knows who voted to the other side that led them to win a few seats. But this won’t happen again,” said Shinde.

Earlier, Shinde who was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora, held meetings with party workers and former elected representatives. Shinde also visited other assembly constituencies such as Byculla and Sewri which fall in Mumbai South LS constituency. Arvind Sawant of Shiv Sena (UBT) had won the seat in recently held LS polls.

On Saturday, Raj Thackeray had appealed to “sons of the soil” to rise and fight for their fundamental rights. “Instead of buckling under pressure from forces that are out to undermine you, be strong and show your might,” he said.

Thackeray was addressing a gathering after unveiling the party’s ‘Vision Worli’ in Mumbai.
