Piyush Goyal: Increase bed capacity in upcoming Damini hospital to 1,000
The deadline for completion of Damini hospital is planned for 2028.

Union minister Piyush Goyal Monday suggested to increase the total number of beds in the proposed Damani Hospital to 1,000, in view of the health needs of the North Mumbai population.
Goyal is also BJP’s candidate from Mumbai North constituency in the Lok Sabha elections.
The upcoming Damani multi speciality hospital in Borivali East is being built by a charitable trust run by Radhakrishnan Damani, owner or D-Mart.
On Monday, Goyal held a meeting with hospital management where it was decided that the total number of hospital beds should be increased to 1,000 from its present plan of 400, in view of the expanding health needs of the population of North Mumbai.
Goyal also proposed addition of other specialised departments including Oncology, Neo Natal Centre, Urology and PET Scan system alongside setting up a nursing and paramedic training school.
The deadline for completion of this hospital is planned for 2028. However, during his interaction with the management, Goyal insisted that it should be opened by September 2026.
