NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule says her phone, WhatsApp hacked; restored within a few hours
Police said attempts are on to know how Supriya Sule’s WhatsApp account was hacked and used by another person on some unidentified device.

Baramati MP Supriya Sule on Saturday claimed that her phone and WhatsApp account were hacked.
After the NCP (SP) leader informed the Pune rural police about it, her phone and WhatsApp account started working again within a few hours.

Sule posted on her X handle around 1 pm, “Urgent: My phone and WhatsApp have been hacked. Please do not call or text me. I have reached out to the police for help.”
After receiving information, a team of Pune rural police initiated a probe into this matter. Pankaj Deshmukh, Superintendent of Pune rural police, said that Supriya
Sule lost access to her WhatsApp account on her Apple device.
Whereas some other person was found to be using her WhatsApp account from another unknown device without her consent.
Police contacted that WhatsApp authorities and after sometime, Sule’s WhatsApp was restored on her Apple device. Also, the police disabled the unauthorised access to Sule’s WhatsApp account on another device.
Around 4.15 pm, Sule posted on her X handle, “Phone and WhatsApp are now working again. Thanks to Pune Rural Police and WhatsApp Support for their quick help. Sorry for any trouble caused while I was unreachable. Please be careful—never share OTPs or click on unknown links.”
Meanwhile, police said they are investigating the issue further.
Police have communicated with WhatsApp as well as Apple Company for the purpose.
Police said attempts are on to know how Sule’s WhatsApp account was hacked and used by another person on some unidentified device.
No FIR (FIR) or offence was lodged yet in this case, police said.
