Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said on Friday that even though the seat-sharing formula among the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) partners for next year’s Lok Sabha elections is yet to be finalised, the 19 seats that the Shiv Sena (undivided) won in the last election will remain with his party.

In the 2019 elections, Sena had won 18 of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra and one seat from Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

“In the next Lok Sabha elections, we will win… all 19 Shiv Sena candidates, including 18 from Maharashtra and one from Dadra and Nagar Haveli, will be elected,” Raut said in Nanded.

Though the undivided Shiv Sena had won 18 seats in 2019, 13 of those 18 MPs joined Chief Minister Eknath Shinde after his rebellion against Uddhav Thackeray led to a split in the party.

“The Maha Vikas Aghadi is and will remain united in the state. There are no differences between the alliance partners. No election formula has been decided yet as the talks are still going on. However, the Maha Vikas Aghadi will contest the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections together,” Raut said. He further added that the four constituencies won by MVA constituent Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and one by the Congress will also remain with them.

The Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held in April-May 2024 while the Maharashtra Assembly polls are scheduled in October-November next year.
