Mumbai News | Ranveer Allahbadia India’s Got Latent Controversy Live Updates: Assam Police Crime Branch on Thursday arrived at the Pune residence of comedian Samay Raina who is involved in controversy following guest judge Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on his show India’s Got Latent. Raina has been served a second summon by the Maharashtra Cyber Police. Despite Raina’s public apology and the removal of all episodes from his channel, the legal troubles continue to escalate. The latest summon, demanding Raina’s appearance on February 17, comes after his lawyer requested more time due to his ongoing US tour.

Raina’s Gujarat show cancelled: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has claimed that Raina’s upcoming shows in Gujarat have been cancelled following public outcry. The VHP cited the crass nature of the remarks made on “India’s Got Latent” as the reason behind the cancellation, and tickets for Raina’s April shows were reportedly pulled from sale on the online platform BookMyShow.

Why is Ranveer Allahbadia under fire and what is the entire controversy all about? The controversy began with a widely condemned question asked by Allahbadia on Samay Raina’s YouTube show, “India’s Got Latent.” During the episode, Allahbadia asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to stop it forever?” Till now, multiple FIRs have been filed against Raina, Allahbadia, and other figures involved in the show, including comedian Ashish Chanchlani, actor Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija. Despite Allahbadia’s apology where he admitted that his comment was “inappropriate, unfunny, and a lapse in judgment,” the damage has been done.
