The stretch will allow commuters to travel between this stretch in just 30 minutes, with trains running every 6.5 minutes during peak time.(Express Photo by Amit Chakravarty)Mumbai News Live Updates, October 7, 2024: The 12.44-km stretch between Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and Aarey of the much-awaited Mumbai Metro Line 3, the city’s first underground metro, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, will be open for the public on Monday. The stretch will allow commuters to travel between this stretch in just 30 minutes, with trains running every 6.5 minutes during peak time. With 96 trips daily, the services will operate from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm on weekdays and, on weekends, from 8:30 am onwards. The minimum fare will be Rs 10 and maximum will be Rs 50 between Aarey and BKC for one way trip.
Meanwhile, fire broke out on the fourth floor of a 12-storey residential building at Jogeshwari in the western suburbs of Maharashtra. The blaze erupted around 7:45 am from the Air Conditioning (AC) unit inside an apartment. It was extinguished around 8:15 am by the Mumbai Fire Brigade. No injuries were reported.
