After three consecutive years of recording the lowest pass percentage among all nine divisions of the Maharashtra State Board, the Mumbai division has made a turnaround in the HSC results this year. With a pass percentage of 92.93%, Mumbai has climbed to the third position among the nine divisions in the state, following Konkan (96.74%) and Kolhapur (93.64%).
This marks a leap from last year’s 91.95% and an improvement over previous years, with 88.13% in 2023 and 90.91% in 2022. The division—which encompasses Mumbai city, suburbs, Thane, Raigad and Palghar—saw 2,91,955 out of 3,14,114 appearing students successfully passing the exam.
“From having ranked lowest to now being ranked third among total nine divisions, it is a great improvement for Mumbai division which covers a large area,” said an official from Mumbai division of Maharashtra State Board.
Among Mumbai division, Raigad tops with 94.66 pass percentage followed by Thane (93.74), Mumbai Suburbs 1 (93.18), Mumbai Suburbs 2 (92.27), Palghar (92.19) and finally Mumbai city (90.60).
There was a total of 3,15,118 students who had registered for HSC exam from Mumbai division. Out of them, 3,14,114 students appeared for the exam and 2,91,955 students passed it, recording a pass percentage of 92.93. This year, there are a total of 4,524 students from Mumbai division who have scored above 90 percent. This is considerably higher than 3,774 students in this bracket.
