MSRTC to run 764 additional services to cater to the summer rush

(Express file photo)The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) Thursday announced it will operate 764 special bus services to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic during the summer holidays. These special services will run across various divisions from April 15 to June 15.
The deployment of special services has been planned after analysing potential demand across different regions.
The MSRTC headquarters has also instructed all divisions to ensure that the buses operating under these services are in proper condition. Also, to facilitate early booking, all these buses have been made available for advance reservations.
“Since student transportation remains minimal during this period, additional buses are available for long-distance travel. Accordingly, 764 special bus services will be introduced in phases starting April 15,” added a senior MSRTC official. These buses are expected to cover a total distance of 2.5 lakh kilometres.
“The workshops and depots have been instructed to pre-register spare parts requirements and prioritise maintenance and repairs for buses arriving at the depots, ensuring they return to service without delays,” added the official.
