The long-awaited Metro 3 corridor is on track for partial commercial operations between BKC and Aarey, with its inaugural run anticipated in early October, according to a senior official from the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL). The official noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to be in the city for the flag-off ceremony, which coincides with other infrastructure project inaugurations.

While some minor works, including automation and system integration, are still pending and should be completed in the next four to five days, the MMRCL has already applied for the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) for its rolling stock. This application is currently with the Railway Board for final approval. Once that is secured, the MMRCL will proceed with the mainline CMRS application, which is necessary for the commercial operations between BKC and Aarey.
