A few Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists created a ruckus at the office of Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL) on Elphistone Technical High School campus on Friday afternoon in protest against the non-functioning of the online admission website. The activists,however,left the place soon on learning that the website server is based in Pune. The Azad Maidan police have registered a case of rioting. The server was running slowly since morning as there was a lot of traffic,so we decided to add a server, said Atul Wadegaonkar general manager,e-governance of MKCL. The protesters came in around 1.45 pm. Senior police inspector B Bhauwle said,The activists asked why the server was down and asked for someone who can set it right. When the office staff told them that the server is in Pune and they had nothing to do with it,the protesters broke a few glass panes.
