THE MUMBAI Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has floated tenders to procure 108 standard gauge cars (coaches) for the operation of Metro Line 6 that runs from Swami Samarth Nagar in Andheri to Vikhroli Eastern Express Highway.

The MMRDA issued a tender looking for an agency that will design, manufacture, supply, testing and commission these many coaches on the elevated Metro Line 6. The said agency will also be responsible to conduct training for the operation of these metro trains.  The estimated value of procurement and training amounts to Rs 989 crore, excluding taxes. The 15.31-km line will run from Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli (EEH) passing through Jogeshwari, WEH, Powai.
