The Metro line 3 was made open for public use from October 9, and on an average, has seen 1.5 lakh passengers daily. (Source: File)Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has introduced free Wi-Fi connectivity at all on the newly inaugurated Mumbai Metro Line 3 stations to enhance passenger convenience and support digital ticket booking through the MetroConnect3 mobile app.
The Wi-Fi facility is available at the concourse (ticketing) level of all Aqua Line metro stations, allowing commuters to book tickets seamlessly.
The Metro line 3 was made open for public use from October 9, and on an average, has seen 1.5 lakh passengers daily. Commuters, however, have so far faced issues with mobile/internet connectivity as the metro line is underground.
MMRCL has said that the process of streamlining connectivity for all network users is underway, but passengers may face issues with connectivity until then.
As of now, except for Vi network users, all others are facing issues of connectivity when travelling in the Aqua line. As such, the free wifi facility will help in booking tickets.
“ALl systems are in place, however, we are in constant dialogue with telecom operators to provide connectivity to the commuters in the underground Metro,” said a MMRCL official.
MMRC has appealed to citizens to make the most of this facility, as the Wi-Fi service is a free, secure, and reliable option for hassle-free ticket booking.
