Man knocks down 2 women,gets bail

A 60-year-old businessman was arrested after he allegedly knocked down two women on Tuesday who later succumbed to their injuries. The police said Yogesh Vyas has been booked for rash driving and causing death due to negligence. Vyas was produced before the magistrate on Wednesday and was granted bail.

A police officer from the Borivali police station said,“Vyas is a businessman and resides in Yogi Nagar. On Tuesday afternoon,he was on his way home when he rammed his car into two daily wage labourers — Sonabai Wankhede (60) and Vimlabai Borkar (53)— injuring them seriously.” Though the women were rushed to Bhagwati Hospital,Vimlabai was declared dead on arrival and Sonabai succumbed to her injuries later. Police have confirmed that Vyas was not drunk at the time of the incident.
