Man killed for trying to blackmail Thane woman with her intimate photos

A 24-year-old resident of Maharashtra’s Thane was murdered on Friday for allegedly trying to blackmail a 20-year-old girl he met at a wedding earlier this year.

According to the police, the woman met the man, Satesh Paranjpe, a resident of Kopri in Thane, at a wedding on April 28. He allegedly drugged her and took her to his residence and subsequently, clicked her nude photographs. He then began blackmailing her, threatening to spread the photos if she did not meet his demands, the woman alleged.

The woman confided in her friend Mayuresh Nandkumar Dhumal, 24, a resident of Jambhli Naka, and on Friday, the two friends confronted the accused. They both asked the accused to delete the photos and soon an argument broke out which escalated into violence.

Dhumal allegedly hit the accused on the head with an axe, resulting in his immediate death. The Thane City Police have registered a case and arrested both the woman and Dhumal.
