“We registered a case under relevant sections of BNS and Protection of Children under Sexual Offences Act 2012 after which a team was sent and the 60-year-old man was initially detained on the basis of suspicion. However, later as he confessed to the crime, the accused was arrested,” an officer said.
The police said that the accused was produced before court and remanded in police custody.
