A 28-year-old man allegdly committed suicide at his residence in the MIDC area of suburban Andheri on Wednesday. MIDC police officers,who are conducting inquiries in the case,said they had not found any suicide note.
The body of Shivraj Chinappa,hailing from Karnataka and working with a zunka bhakar stall in Andheri,was found hanging from a rope tied to an iron rod at his home in Goni Nagar by two roommates on Wednesday. According to the MIDC police,Chinnappas roommates went home last night after work but it was locked and the key was with Chinappa.
The two,who also work with Chinappa,then went to the food centre to sleep, Police Inspector Deepak Bagwe from the MIDC police station said. On Wednesday,they returned but despite repeated knocks,Chinappa did not respond. His roommates then peeped in and found the body.
Our officers broke open the door. Chinappa was rushed to Cooper Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. We have not found any suicide note at the spot and the motive has not been ascertained. We have informed the family of the deceased and are talking to his roommates and other friends to figure out the reason behind the suicide, said Bagwe.
