Shakti Baviskar (35) drowned in OP lake in Aarey Colony,Goregaon,during Ganpati immersion on Thursday night. He was a resident of Nashik Chawl in the colonys unit 32. Police said Baviskar slipped through the guarded gate number 1. There were lifeguards near the gate but they were busy. Baviskar entered deep water and could not stay afloat, said a police officer,adding that the lifeguards found the body in a search later.
Baviskar was pulled out and rushed to Dr Ambedkar Lifeline Hospital in Malad (East),where he was declared brought dead.
