Maharashtra Sadan official recalled for ‘lost’ dinner invite to Fadnavis

He who was amongst selected guests invited by President Pranab Mukherjee, but was not informed till day.

The state government has cracked the whip against assistant resident commissioner at Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi, Sandhya Pawar, for failing to deliver the invite for special dinner hosted in the honour of US President Barack Obama to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Sources in the CMO said, “Sandhya Pawar has been repatriated for her mistake that caused major embarrassment to the state government.”

Fadnavis, who was amongst the select guests invited for the dinner hosted by President Pranab Mukherjee on January 25, was not informed till the next day.

When he checked with the officials at Maharashtra Sadan, he was told they had sent the invite by speed post.

However, CMO did not receive the invitation card.

Finally, the CM had to rush the next day to make it up for the high tea.
