Maharashtra MHT-CET exam postponed at one centre after glitch
After the news of chaos reached the CET Cell, it was decided to reschedule the exam.

Amid the ongoing MHT-CET exam in Maharashtra, candidates from a centre in Borivali were in for a shock on Friday after their exam could not start for hours due to a technical glitch. Eventually it had to be postponed for over 250 students who will now appear for the exam on May 15 and 16.
The entrance test for engineering and pharmacy admissions in Maharashtra, MHT-CET is conducted by the Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell. Over 1.5 lakh candidates are appearing for the exam this year, which is a computer-based test, held in designated centres, which are usually colleges.
On Friday, there was chaos in one of the exam centres in Borivali, where the morning session exam was scheduled to begin at 9 am but did not start until 10.30 am due to a glitch. “As per the regulations, we reached the centre by 7.30 am. We were allowed entry at 8 am and we waited for the exam to start at 9 am. But till 10.30 am it did not start,” a parent of a candidate said.
Another parent said, “We urged the centre to reschedule the exam owing to the glitch and allow candidates to go home. But the centre kept students waiting for hours, which led to arguments as students scheduled to take the test in the afternoon session started to arrive at the centre.”
After the news of chaos reached the CET Cell, it was decided to reschedule the exam. “Total 186 students from the first session completed the exam. Whereas for 252 students it is now rescheduled on May 15 and 16,” said an official from the CET Cell.
