Maharashtra: Fire breaks out at chemical unit in Boisar MIDC, none injured
Officials said that a major disaster was averted as workers of the factory were swiftly evacuated and no injuries were reported.

A massive fire erupted at UK Aromatic and Chemical Company in the Boisar-Tarapur MIDC area of Palghar district in Maharashtra on Sunday, officials said. The blaze spread to an adjacent chemical unit in Salwad Shivaji Nagar, raising concerns.
According to officials, the Palghar fire control room received a call about the incident at 5.31 pm, following which several fire engines and water tankers were deployed. The fire was brought under control by late night, they said.
Officials said that a major disaster was averted as workers of the factory were swiftly evacuated and no injuries were reported.
“The cause of the blaze is not yet known. There will be an investigation,” said Yogesh Bangar, a fireman from the Boisar MIDC Fire Brigade.
