The state government on Thursday transferred 10 government officials, including General Manager of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Harshdeep Kamble, who has now been made Principal Secretary of Social Justice department.
Kamble was transferred within a week of him taking over as the General Manager of BEST.
Kamble had replaced Anil Diggikar, who took over the post in March 2024. Diggikar was moved three weeks after the Kurla accident involving a BEST bus that claimed nine lives and injured around 40 people on December 9. The government has yet not appointed anyone for the post of BEST General Manager.
The government also transferred senior IAS official Milind Mhaiskar as Additional Chief Secretary of Forest department from his existing post in the Public Health Department. Dr Nipun Vinayak, project director of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), is now posted as secretary, Public Health (1).
Among other transfers, B Venugopal Reddy, Additional Chief Secretary of Forest department, has been moved to Higher and Technical Education. Vikaschandra Rastogi, Principal Secretary, Higher and Technical Education is now posted as Principal Secretary, Agriculture.
I A Kundan, Principal Secretary of School Education, is now posted as Principal Secretary of Labour. Vinita Ved Singhal, Principal Secretary of Labour has been posted as Principal Secretary of Environment. Jayashri Bhoj, secretary of MahaIT, is now Secretary of Food & Civil Supplies.
CEO of Pune Zilla Parishad Santosh Patil is now posted as Collector, Satara. Jitendre Duddi, Collector of Satara district is now posted as district collector of Pune.
