Maharashtra Assembly elections: NCP (SP) announces second list, names candidate in ally Shiv Sena (UBT)’s seat
The NCP (SP) has named former MLA Rahul Mote as its candidate for the Paranda seat in Dharashiv. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has already announced Ranjit Patil’s name for the same seat.

The Nationalist Congress Party (SP) on Saturday announced its second list of 22 candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in Maharashtra, naming a candidate for the Paranda seat in Dharashiv where Maha Vikas Aghadi ally Shiv Sena (UBT) has already declared a candidate.
NCP (SP) state unit chief Jayant Patil said that the party is in discussion with the Shiv Sena (UBT) and a solution would soon be arrived at. “We are discussing it and I am sure there will be a way out of it,” he said.
The NCP (SP) has given the ticket to former MLA Rahul Mote while the Shiv Sena (UBT) had earlier announced Rahul Patil’s name for the same seat.
Jayant Patil said that the Congress leaders will be holding talks with NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday evening to discuss the disputed seats. “The last date of nominations is the 29th and therefore there is still time for us to decide on candidates,” he said.
In its second list, the NCP (SP) has announced the names of sitting MLAs Sandeep Kshirsagar from Beed and Deepak Chavan from Phaltan who had chosen to be with the party after the split. MLC Satish Chavan, who had quit the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, will be the party candidate from Gangapur in Marathwada. Mayura Kale, the wife of Wardha NCP (SP) MP Amar Kale, will be the party candidate from Arvi in Wardha district.
Apart from Mote, the party has repeated former MLAs Pandurang Warora (Shahapur-ST), Dipika Chavan (Baglan) and Satish Patil (Erandol). Senior Dhangar leader Uttam Jankar will contest from Malshiras while the party has decided to give another chance to Sachin Dodke (Khadakwasla). Nandini Babulkar-Kupekar, the daughter of former Assembly Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar, will be the party candidate from Chandgad in Kolhapur.
The party has given a ticket to Manikrao Shinde from Yeola in Nasik district and he will take on NCP minister and heavyweight Chhagan Bhujbal.
Among the new faces, the party has given tickets to Mayura Kale (Arvi), Uday Sangle (Sinnar), Omi Kalani (Ulhasnagar), Sunita Charoskar (Dindori), Satyasheel Sherkar (Junnar), Ganesh Gite (Nasik East), Pimpri (Satyasheel Shilvant), Amit Bhangare (Akole), Abhishek Kalamkar (Ahilyanagar) and Madan Karande (Ichalkaranji).
