The Congress Thursday night announced its first list of Lok Sabha candidates for seven seats in Maharashtra.
Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj, the direct descendent of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, will be the party’s candidate from Kolhapur Lok Sabha seat.
Adv Goval Padvi, son of former Maharashtra minister and MLA K C Padvi, will contest from Nandurbar (ST). He will take on two-time Lok Sabha MP BJP Heena Gavit.
Balwant Wankhede, who is the Congress MLA from Daryapur (SC) constituency, will contest from Amaravti (SC) seat in Vidarbha.
Former MLA Vasant Chavan will contest from Nanded Lok Sabha which is the home district of former chief minister Ashok Chavan. He will take on current BJP MP Prataprao Chikhlikar.
Dr Shivaji Kalge, a famous doctor from Latur, will be the Congress candidate from Latur (SC). He will take on BJP MP And candidate Sudhakar Shrungare.
Former union home minister and Maharashtra chief minister Sushilkumar Shinde’s daughter and sitting MLA Praniti Shinde will contest from Solapur (SC) constituency.
Sitting MLA Ravindra Dhangekar will be the party candidate from Pune. He will take on former Pune mayor and BJP candidate Muralidhar Mohol.
The list comes even before the seat sharing formula within the opposition MVA is finalised.
