According to the police, a case has been registered against Waikar’s relative M Pandilkar who was also a representative of Independent candidate Lata Shinde based on the complaint of Bharat Jan Aadhaar Party worker lodged at the Vanrai police station.

Inquiry revealed that Pandilkar had no permission to take his mobile phone to the counting station.

“The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and sections 188 and 34 of Indian Penal Code,” said Rajbhar.

The police have collected CCTV footage of the centre.

“We are conducting further investigation in the matter and no one has been arrested yet,” the officer added.
