J&K students visit city

A group of students from remote villages and underdeveloped towns in Jammu and Kashmir visited Mumbai from August 9-11 as a part of an educational tour called Operation Sadbhavana.

A group of students from remote villages and underdeveloped towns in Jammu and Kashmir visited Mumbai from August 9-11 as a part of an educational tour called Operation Sadbhavana. Organised annually by the Uniform Force of the Rashtriya Rifles,Assam Regiment,25 students from J&K visit different parts of India to learn more about the rich culture and heritage of the country.

In Mumbai,the students visited various places including the Gateway of India,the Nehru Science Centre,and also met Governor K Sankaranarayanan. Captain Jaskirat Singh,the officer in charge of the tour,said the students were very enthusiastic to visit various places. The group will be visiting Agra,Kargil,Srinagar and Leh during the two-week long tour. The aim of the tour was to integrate the youth and locals from remote villages in J&K with the rest of mainstream India.
