All infra projects in state to now have geo tagged 13-digit unique ID
The government has also decided to complete registration of all infra projects in the last five years by March 2026.

The 13-digit alphanumeric unique ID will have one letter state code, two digit sanction year code, four letter code for scheme/program, three letter district code, two letter asset type abbreviation and sequential serial number.Each of the infrastructure development projects in Maharashtra will now have a geo-tagged 13-digit alphanumeric unique ID which will now be used as a primary reference number once the administrative approval is granted to the project. The infra ID portal for the same has been activated from Monday.
In the first stage of the project, all infra projects in Vidarbha’s Wardha district from the Public Works Department, Rural Development Department, Urban Development Department, Water Conservation Department, Water Supply and Sanitation and Irrigation Department will be given the unique ID. The government has ordered to start giving unique IDs for the rest of the districts and departments from October 1, 2025. The Maharashtra cabinet had cleared the same in January 2025.
Under this, each project will have a unique digital identity and is aimed at enhancing inter-departmental and inter-organisational coordination. The Maharashtra Remote Sensing Application Centre (MRSAC) platform will be used for monitoring and management purposes. Each infrastructure facility will be geo-tagged which can also prevent duplication of projects. The information of all projects will be available on the Infra ID portal to bring transparency.

The government has also decided to complete registration of all infra projects in the last five years by March 2026. The decision of cancellation of the unique ID will be taken by the committee of district collector.
