Mumbai-Jeddah flight grounded due to technical snag
A Saudi Arabian Airlines Mumbai-Jeddah flight with 270 passengers has been stuck for nearly two days at the Mumbai airport. The aircraft had a technical fault on Monday and had to defer its departure. Initially it was set to depart at 8 am,deferred to 10.30 am,but till Tuesday evening,the flight had not departed.
Saudi Arabia Airlines flight S V 745 (Mumbai-Jeddah) has been delayed since Monday due to grounding of the aircraft owing to technical reasons. Airline has shifted passengers to hotels, said a MIAL spokesperson. The airline had transferred some passengers via an alternate flight to Jeddah.
Unidentified body found near Juhu Koliwada
The decomposed body of an unidentified man was found at Juhu Koliwada in Santacruz on Monday. According to the police,they had received a call from locals informing them the body of a 25-year-old man had drifted offshore at Juhu beach. The police reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem to Cooper Hospital. Although the police said it might be a case of drowning,they are making attempts to trace the identity of the man.
Desilting,road repair work miss deadline
The BMC has once again failed to complete the pre-monsoon drain desilting and road repair work on schedule. The civic administration is racing against time to complete the work before June 5. L S Vhatkar,chief engineer of the civic Storm Water Drains department,said,About 10 per cent of drain desilting work is remaining. Of the 319-km stretch of nullahs,275 km has been attended to. While the nullah desilting work is expected to complete before this weekend,the road repairs along with pothole repairs might take a little longer,said officials.
