IIT student suicide case: Accused files discharge plea
Khatri has said in the plea that the chargesheet filed by the police has no evidence to point towards any offences under the SC/ST Act. The plea also said that there was no evidence to show that there was any instigation on Khatri's part to push Solanki towards taking his life.

IIT Bombay student Arman Khatri has sought discharge from the abetment of suicide case of his classmate Darshan Solanki, in a plea filed before the trial court.
Khatri was arrested on April 9, 2023, under charges of abetment of suicide and criminal intimidation of the IPC and under relevant Sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The police had claimed to have found a note in 18-year-old Solanki’s room, naming Khatri and alleged that evidence shows that Khatri had harassed him, leaving him no option but to take the extreme step on February 12, 2023.

Khatri is currently out on bail. The trial in the case is yet to begin.
