According to Kedare, the first course to be offered in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) is expected to start from September, while a few others in areas such as electrical vehicles, entrepreneurship, etc., are in the pipeline.

Prof Milind Atrey, deputy director (Academic and Infrastructural Affairs), who was present for the media interaction, said, “It is Outreach 2.0 for the IIT-Bombay where the focus is on industry. The institute has already created a new position of dean for educational outreach for more focused efforts toward this. Additionally, we have appointed a professional full time CEO for this department for effective implementation of plans.”

The professors pointed out how IIT Madras, which ranks first in NIRF ranking, has done better in the aspect of educational outreach with more such programmes on offer.

Apart from industry executives, such courses will be open for teachers from other colleges or those who have not been able to get admission in IIT-Bombay and aspire to pursue certain courses there.
