The video testimony of an American witness in the 26/11 trial was deferred on Monday as he was vacationing in Canada and not carrying the documents he needed to answer the prosecution’s questions. The proceedings were adjourned till Tuesday.

The witness is the owner of International Connection Services (ICS),which provides Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) services across the world. ICS’s domain,Callphonex, was allegedly used by the 26/11 attackers to communicate with their handlers in Pakistan.

The witness had been summoned to depose through a video-conferencing facility set up in a Toronto hotel. An FBI officer was with him.

When special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam asked him the phone number their customers use to contact anyone, the witness couldn’t recall all the digits and said he didn’t have the records. He promised to get those in 24 hours.

The prosecution’s case is that during the attack, the gunmen used the VoIP facility based in New Jersey to communicate with their handlers in Pakistan.
