In another case of robbery by a domestic help,a 61-year-old woman was injured when she tried to stop her domestic help from stealing cash from her residence in Dindoshi.

According to the police,on Saturday Navin Ashok Agarwal (34),a garment trader, had gone to visit relatives, leaving his mother Chandrakala in his house. Agarwal had employed a domestic help,Raju,a month ago back and had left his mother in his care, the police said. Around 1.45 pm,when Chandrakala woke up after hearing some noise and went to her son’s bedroom, she saw Raju stealing cash from the cupboard.

“Raju had stuffed around Rs 90,000 in his pockets. Chandrakala tried to stop him but Raju lifted a wooden stool near the bed and hit Chandrakala on her head with it. He then fled,” said Maruti Rathod, assistant commissioner of police (Dindoshi division).

Agarwal returned an hour later to find his mother in a pool of blood. Navin rushed his mother to the Lifeline Hospital where she was admitted to the ICU.

“We have registered a case of robbery against Raju and are on the lookout for him. The Agarwals do not know Raju’s last name and as he used to stay at the watchman quarters near the building,we do not have his address,” said Rathod.
