Chief minister’s son Anuj Patel was rushed to a hospital in Ahmedabad after he suffered a brain stroke. After spending days on artificial breathing support, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s son Anuj Patel, who suffered a brain stroke earlier this month, can breathe on his own. Officials at Mumbai’s P D Hinduja Hospital said Sunday he continues to remain under observation at the ICU.
“He is off ventilator… He is going much better than before. His vital signs are stable,” said an official at the Hinduja Hospital.
Anuj had suffered a brain stroke after he had lunch and he was with his father, people privy to the matter had said then.

K D Hospital had said in a statement on May 1, “Anuj B Patel, son of Shri Bhupendra Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Gujarat, has had a brain stroke yesterday (Sunday) and was admitted in KD Hospital, Ahmedabad. The local neurosurgeons had done an appropriate emergency procedure which stabilised him. He is now shifted by air ambulance to P D Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai, for an operative procedure. He will continue to remain in the ICU of P D Hinduja Hospital, after the surgery, till further recovery.”
