Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel’s son Anuj Patel stable, breathing on his own: Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital

Anuj was air-lifted to Mumbai on May 1 where he underwent a neurosurgery at Hinduja Hospital. He underwent his first brain surgery in Ahmedabad’s K D Hospital on April 30, following which his health was stable.

After spending days on artificial breathing support, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s son Anuj Patel, who suffered a brain stroke earlier this month, can breathe on his own. Officials at Mumbai’s P D Hinduja Hospital said Sunday he continues to remain under observation at the ICU.

“He is off ventilator… He is going much better than before. His vital signs are stable,” said an official at the Hinduja Hospital.

Anuj had suffered a brain stroke after he had lunch and he was with his father, people privy to the matter had said then.

Anuj was air-lifted to Mumbai on May 1 where he underwent a neurosurgery at Hinduja Hospital. He underwent his first brain surgery in Ahmedabad’s K D Hospital on April 30, following which his health was stable.

K D Hospital had said in a statement on May 1, “Anuj B Patel, son of Shri Bhupendra Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Gujarat, has had a brain stroke yesterday (Sunday) and was admitted in KD Hospital, Ahmedabad. The local neurosurgeons had done an appropriate emergency procedure which stabilised him. He is now shifted by air ambulance to P D Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai, for an operative procedure. He will continue to remain in the ICU of P D Hinduja Hospital, after the surgery, till further recovery.”
