Force One commandos demonstrate their skills at the SRPF Grounds,Goregaon East. The state’s crack force,set up after 26/11 on the lines of the NSG,was made operational on Tuesday and 216 personnel showed their skills at firing and handling hostage situations. “The men are specially trained in the use of modern weaponry and other tactics useful in urban warfare. They can draw pistols and shoot five rounds into a target within three seconds,” said Force One head S Jagannathan. Acting DGP A N Roy said the personnel are among the best the city has and went through gruelling training. Home Minister RR Patil said 26/11 exposed the need for a specialised force. Chief Minister Ashok Chavan promised a plan for family welfare and housing reforms for police personnel.
